ICR2 Problems

ICR2 Problems

Decided to go back to ICR2 today, so I re-installed it.  Unfortunately,
I can't get it to recognize my brakes on my TSW Wheel.  I have the TSW
set up as split axis mode, and have no problems in any other game.  I
went thru the calibration routine and control assignment in ICR2, but no
dice.

Also, I've got some graphics problems (don't know whether they're
related).  I had to click off "Direct Draw" in order to stop the screen
from freezing (I had a frame rate count of 77 before clicking it off!)
Also, the game screen at 640x480 has a large black frame around it, so
it's probably half the size of my monitor's screen.  Lowering the
resolution to 640x400 or even 320x200 reduces the game's visible area
even more.  (I would have thought that the reverse would be true).

My system is:

Celeron 300 (oc'd to 450)
128 Megs RAM
ATI All-in-Wonder Pro (8 Megs)
STB Voodoo2 (although it's not used with ICR2)
Windows 95 OSR2
TSW Wheel

Any help on these items would be appreciated.  Especially the No Brakes
problem.

Thanks.

That's exactly right.  Should I be using the DOS version (perhaps thru a DOS
window) instead, or are there things I can do to get the Windows version to
work?

Everybody in ICR2 land uses the game in pure dos. It has much less problems,
and all the add-ons will work in dos, unlike the Windows version. Plus the game
will run faster, especially if you have a rendition card.
