I have Icr2 with the latest patch, and for some reason,my car
seems to lose grip and slide to the wall.I have tried everything I
know of!It even cost me a 12.00 phone call to Sierra, and they
  weren't a bit of help!!

I noticed the same problem at some tracks. Michigan in particular.  I
used to get better traction before the patch.  Now I can't run flat
out through turn 1 with full tanks. I used to be able to do that.
The road course tracks seem to be better tho...

Sounds to me they need to do another patch! You're right about
Michigan!I have to ease on the throttle before when I go into the turn
and you know there is no way you can hold off a charging car taking
 the turn at 190 +!

I "solved" the Michigan problem by copying the old Michigan files from
the CD back into the Michigan subdirectory and reverted back to the
original handling.  (You have to change the file attributes on dome
files so that they are no longer "read-only") I never really noticed
the understeer bug in Michigan so now I can really race flat out with
the AI cars. All of the other patch improvements. Over-rev light,
frame counter, etc. still work, but the handling is much better, IMHO.
