GPL - Watkins Glen - how is 1:06:66?

by mrace » Sun, 01 Nov 1998 04:00:00

Hi everyone, my best so far is 1:06:66 (Lotus). Believe it
or not, I set this time in a race. I was running second to
Clark and I guess the pressure to catch him helped me
mentally speed up a little. My previous best while
qualifying was 1:06:74. I just wanted to see where I am
compared to most other folks out there. I know I saw a
1:05:82 at the Apex web site, but still I'm trying. By the
way, what is the world record, anyone know?

GPL race settings:  Rendition, 640x480, AA off, mirrors cars
only
aprox. 36 fps at all times with 19 AI cars, even from the
back of the field, smooth as silk.

Too fast. I'm cruising at 1.28 or thereabouts and taking in the
scenery.

I'm going to have to buy Links 99 to settle the heart rate.

1:05 at the Glen is very good.  I'm also in that region.  I'm sure it's
possible to go faster however if I have the time :)
