I am sick of it.

Why is it every time someone talks about hardware that is
non-TSW, they get "***ed" by a horde of TSW thugs?
Does TSW own this newsgroup?

Got news for you TSW.  This ain't your street.
We can discuss whatever we want, and we should be
able to do it without having to be buried in ridiculous
flame messages.  Fact is, if your stuff was really so great,
and really in such demand, there wouldn't be any
need at all to try to terrorize those with differing opinions.
The quality of your product would speak for itself.

Peace and love,
Karl Heinz

Well, I'm sure that the TSW stuff is quite nice, but they do seem to get a
bit huffy about all of this.

And I think you also have to take a comment like "high school wood shop
construction"  from Car and Driver seriously as well. I would think that
it's not that out of the question to figure that the people at C&D know a
little about fit and finish.

As for TSW's own comment (in another posting) about "I dont really care what
wheel they own, I'll put the TSW up against it anytime for polish, fit,
accessories or anything else." OK. Fine.

I considered all these factors when I went out and bought a wheel and peddle
combo.

I own and use a Hyperstimulator Model 3000

Feel free to make what ever comparisons you'd like between it and anything
TSW, ECCI or anything anyone else makes.

And while I'm sure that TSW products are nice, that's kind of like saying
"Henkles makes a good kitchen knife," when you're talking about bayonets.
Anything that has a *** drain is serious business.

Tony

Karl, for your info our product does speak quite well for itself and so
does Car & Driver and a heck of a lot of locations on the www. Where we
take exception is where statements are made the are derogatory and not
backed by any proof whatsoever.

You will find us and a lot of our friends and customers coming
immediately to our defence anytime this occurs and I suggest that if you
dont like it then dont read it cause you can bet we're going to keep it
up :).

As a TSW owner I would like to say. After using it for 5 months it feels the
exact same as it did the first day. I can't say the same for my previous
wheels. It's really too bad you haven't tried a TSW wheel, I guess you will
never realize why we stick up for TSW. I can't say the TSW is the best
wheel, but I can say it is the best I have ever tried. Nobody can say what
the best wheel is without trying all of them.  As for the previous post
being way off base I disagree. He was right when it comes to sticking up for
TSW. I always thought it was ok to stick up for something you beleive in and
always will. As for bashing other companies, no that isn't right. I think
every product has it's place. Even if some of my wheels ended up meeting the
garbage man on Friday.  You think the feel and quality of the TSW is why so
many owners and others are so quick to voice themselfs? Na, nevermind that
would be to easy now wouldn't it?

Trevor,

I have proof........me..........I had one of ur wheels, and it looked
homemade to me, and after the steering pot crapped out after 2 mos., I gave
it away. Was afraid to sell it to someone, as I feared what would happen,
sooooooo,
I bought an ECCI, after 2 years of flawless perforance, I did sell it, for
almost what I paid for it, and bought the next model out, CDS2.

You can use this in one of your testemonials, I give u permission, but to
compare your product to ECCI and say ur fit and finish and smootness is the
same is ludicrous and borders on false advertising from a manufacturer.

And that is the absolute bottom line. Anyone who reads this can take it or
leave it, but thats it.

Wait a minute.

Here we are talking about a bunch of "friends"
that immdiately act in unison with force in "defence"
of a supposedly superior ideal (or in this case,
product) against some kind of "bashing" that
doesn't even exist ( the only "bashing"
that was done was done by the TSW "friends"
against competing products).

And that last line:

I certainly believe this is a statement of fact, but it
also sure does have the sound of some kind
of threat.  Nothing like persistent "persuasion"
to educate those heathen non-believers, eh?

Hmmm.  Excuse me.  I thought I was reading
messages from rec.autos.simulators.

Judging from the tone of the message that I am
responding to, I've obviously got the
"wrong number".   I must've bumped my mouse
and instead selected:

rec. nazis.kkk.republicans.***

Sorry.

Showers of flowers in all of your hours,
Karl Heinz

Ooops.  Forgot something.

Much to the chagrin of the majority party in
congress, this still is the good ol' U.S. of A,
and I still have the right to, and will read
anything I damn well please, thank you.

God bless Larry Flynt.

1.) It was off base because the guy writing the message was Trevor Thomas
one of the OWNERS of Thomas Enterprises and that was nothing near what you
would come to expect as a way with dealing with the public.

2.) I have never bashed another company and I don't know where you got the
idea that I did. The fact of the matter is that all of the "Proud TSW
Formula owner's" to use your term Mike, are the ones bashing everyone else
for not owning one.

Your post was case in point.

Man, I cannot believe this guy keeps digging this hole deeper.

Karl's got it nailed, buddy, "the product will speak for itself".  The end.
You aren't doing ANY good whatsoever.  Thank Christ we don't go through this

This arrogance by TSW doesn't do them a bit of good in my book! They
made up my mind to build my own wheel.I see product bashing quite a bit
here and it has no influence on my buying decisions. Were not all stupid
followers. GEEZ EH!

> Karl's got it nailed, buddy, "the product will speak for itself".

If we're leaving the product to speak for itself......
The product is actually pretty good, it has it's flaws, but if you want nice and
shiny, I recommend you steer clear of motor racing - you'll find it too greasy,
with loads of on-the-spot metalwork. I care for operation - I don't really care
if my racing wheel is made out of rusty bed springs. The TSW products have been
very effectively virtual-road tested and give a very clean drive. And it does
last the course. The ECCI and hyper stimulator may be just as good or better, I
don't know, but the TSW is quite a lot better than any of the mass-production
wheels I have used and that list numbers around 20. The price is steep, but I'd
say it gives value for money.

Fact is, on ras, we do go through exactly this rigmarole for just about every
product that touches the sim universe - there doesn't seem to be unanimous
agreement about any product - even the very popular ones like GPL have their
detractors.

Peter,

What do you mean off base? Its up to you whether you buy our product or
not but a decsion based on replies to bashing of our product by either
uninformed or misinformed individuals is a poor way to judge product
quality.

I feel that I or anyone else has a perfect right to defend against
unfair and derogatory remarks made about Thomas Enterprises or any of
our products and we WILL continue to do this very thing anytime the
issue is raised. I would hope that our satisfied customers and
supporters would also continue to do this sort of thing with my full
support.

As for whether anything read or posted in this newsgroup goes, we
certainly dont see any negative effects sales wise, we are struggling
constantly to fill orders and every review of the TSW or TSW2 is always
favorable.

If you doubt this then I suggest you pick up a December issue of Car &
Driver and read what they had to say :). If you personally base a buying
decision on your stated reasons then you are depriving youself of a
product that is rated very highly by those who are *** sim racers.

You may spend your money where you wish and I certainly am not going to
try to sell you one of our products, that is your decision entirely :).
