HELP: NFS has no sound...

by Thomas C Norwo » Mon, 25 Nov 1996 04:00:00

A friend of mine just got NFS (NOT the SE) and I helped him install it.

He has a Sound Blaster Pro soundcard.  The sound test during the
installation worked fine, but he has no sound in the game.  He has
all of the volumes turned up to the max.

I can't figure it out.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

sounds like u got the pirate version, and that didnt have any sound.
u have to get the 40disk add on for  sound.
i only make the assumption, because anyone can install a stoopid
cd game. if he needed help, then he either doesnt know how to read
D:\INSTALL or u got the cd rip.if u got a legit copy, and it dont
work, then, OOPS. sorry.   :)

Can I assume that the BLASTER environment variable is set in the
Autoexec.bat?  NFS MUST have this to run the sound.  The line should
look something like:  SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T4
If that's not it.....
