Tried all kinds of different settings still no luck, sounds like a busssaw!
Have on board sound Nvidea Nforce 2 sound.  Even loaded NR 4 and have same
problem there.  Installed a sound blaster and that fixed the sound, but the
graphics screwed up about 10 min into the race, went red or green all over
the screen. Have the latest drivers , Graphics is G-Force 5200FX. Anyone
have a cure???

I may or may not have a similar problem.

I use the onboard sound on my Abit NF7-S.  This is the version with
the Dolby Digital Encoder.  I use the spdif out to my receiver and
enable the encoder, which sends the DirectSound stream as AC-3.

When I enable 3d sounds in NR2003 there is a LOT of reverb, like you
are in a cave that is inside an aircraft hanger or something.  Anyway,
to make it go away, I have to go to the options menu, turn off sound,
return to the main menu, go to the options menu again, turn sound back
on.  When I click to turn sound back on, everything hangs for about 5
seconds, then after that the main menu appears and the reverb stops.

I haven't tried any other games, so I dont know if this is NR2003
specific, or has to do with the NF2 audio.

HTH,
Gerald

This may or may not help you, but this is what I did ion NR02 (don't have 03
yet) and things did improve a lot...go to the windows volumn control and turn
it way down...use the volumn control on your speakers instead.  Hope this
helps...
