Tin can sound in NR2003

by ike » Thu, 04 Sep 2003 13:56:47

For some reason I get a strange tin can-like echo in NR2003 with my new
PC that is quite annoying.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  I am
using the onboard sound that came with my Abit NF7-S motherboard and am
quite happy with it except in NR2003.  Any suggestions?

I had that problem also. For some reason N2003 switches the effect to a
very echo'ish one. Funny how it only did it with that game. I tried
different combinations of drivers and all failed to correct the problem.
Finally got fed up with it and put in my trusty Turtle Beach sound card
again.

Maybe they have newer drivers that corrected the problem now, i haven't
checked in quite a while.

I have AC97 on a A7v8x mobo. From sound manager goto AC97 Audio
Configuration, sound effects edit. And change reverb. Worked for me.

It seems that was already changed.  I found a temporary fix by
un-checking the 3d sound box in the game.  I'll try to find some older
drivers tonight.
