N2 & Soundblaster Live Value card.

by Greg Gummerso » Mon, 09 Nov 1998 04:00:00

I am running an AMD k6 2 333, with 64MB PC100, and a SB Live value card and
a 12MB Aopen Vodoo card.  When running N2 3dfx my wheel operates through the
joystick port on the card, but I have no sound.  When I try to run the setup
program it will not autodetect the card.  I have tried setting up the
environment variables to match the SB16 emulator found in my computers
resource settings but the setup program locks up.  Any ideas?

Also  would the type of hardware I have run GPL fairly smooth ?

I didn't think the SB Live was a DOS card. What do the instructions
say to do for DOS mode?

Greg

Did the same thing last night myself, the SB16 emulation was set to IRQ
9/2, and when rebooting to DOS (or running in DOS window) I got IRQ 2
for the SB 16

What I did was change the properties of the SB 16 emulation to run on
what my old SB card had run on, namely 220,5,1,5, which is most commom
with SB`s I belive, you may have to override PNP here, but this solved
my problems

Beers and cheers
