gp2 and soundblaster live (!)

Hi Folks,

Recently I decided to reinstall GP2 and drive around for a bit.  But, I
discovered that it will not detect my Soundblaster Live card--seems to have
something to do with the SB emulation.  The "wave emulation" checkbox in
AudioHQ is greyed out for some reason.

I tried running "sbego.exe" to test things and it gave me an error, asking
"Is SB emulation enabled? . . ."

Apparently not.  Any clues?

best, and thanks,

David Karr

Same thing happened to me awhile back. No amount of retesting or
reconfiguring  got the sound to work again. Lucily, I had a copy of
the sound.cfg file elsewhere. I then overwrote the corrupted one,
and then it worked fine.  Good luck..

Just a quick question! You got GP2 to run under DOS with SB Live? I can only
run it in Windows in order to get sound in the game!

What kind of Motherboard do you have? I've noticed that the Asus P5A has a
problem with the SBL emulation mode. Might check to see if it is your
motherboard.
