Problem with ICR2 DOS patch: 1.0.0 --> 1.0.2

After using the patch for the DOS version of ICR2 the game crashes when
racing or playing a replay for several minutes. I can still here the
sound of a driving car.

Has anybody else encountered this problem??? If you were able to solve
it, please tell me how you did it.

I have the same problem, again after having used the patch.  I thought
it was just my computer, but it appears I'm not alone.
