Any comments on experience with current FF steering wheels?

I am looking to purchase a FF wheel and I think I have narrowed it down
to the Logitech and the Act unit.  I would appreciate any informed
comments on these and any other FF wheels.

Thanks,

Pedals, pedals, pedals!!! For the price being asked for the FF wheels don't
forget about the pedals. The Logitech unit is getting blasted from reviewer
and user alike for it's poor implementation of the pedals. Users claim that
the pedal travel is so short that driving GPL is near impossible (go look at
the photos of the Logitech unit on their web site). I've spent a lot of time
reading the reviews and the posts both here and over at Sierra's Motorsports
forum and then went out and bought a Microsoft FF wheel. I didn't
intentionally want an FF wheel, I wanted a good wheel/pedal combo and just
didn't want to spent more than $200 total. The MS wheel has the best pedal
setup I've seen on a FF wheel bar none! Works great in GPL, Viper, NR99,
Monster Truck Madness 2, etc. The MS FF wheel supports auto-centering in
non-FF games (not all the FF wheels do) and it'd adjustable. Auto-centering
works well in GPL, NR99 and other sims that do not support FF. Just keep in
mind that none of these wheels will work properly in pure DOS mode, although
I hear it does work in GP2 with split pedals.
Game play with this controller is very smooth and anyone using an analog
wheel with twitching potentiometers will be pleasantly surprised that this
syndrome is completely gone. The twitching arms complaint about GPL is also
gone. This is probably due to the optical sensors and onboard 25 MHz
co-processor that handles the digital interface to the game port.
Microsoft is also getting a name for producing high quality game
controllers. And, they wrote the operating system! This should be an
advantage.
I am very pleased with this purchase. Time to go racing!

I had an Actlab Force RS (for a week) and now have the MSFF.  I agree
completely with Doug - with no self centering in GPL, no separate gas/brake
pedal axis support, and high friction pedals, GPS was not very enjoyable for
me with the Force RS.  The only disappointment for me with the MS FF is the
lack of support of the DOS version of NR1999 (Windows version works fine) -
unfortunately only the DOS version supports multiplayer.

Otherwise, it works fine with all my other FF and non-FF sims.
