CPR- for hot laps?

by Richard Busc » Mon, 06 Apr 1998 05:00:00

With CPR selling for $20 and the GLIDE patch out I was wondering if CPR
is worth it just for hot laps?
Are the tracks accurate? Are hot laps worth it?

Thanks,  ZZ Busch

Hear what you want, the tracks aren't accurate like Microsoft told us.   I
don't know if you remember, but all the guys at Microsoft told us "How
accurate the tracks are", and used all those "GPS modelling for 1inch
accuracy".  You know, stuff who makes good Press Release.  But... I would
say easily that they aren't THAT accurate.  Just look at Miami and
Cleveland.  Icr2 is 10x time better, excluding the fake walls thing.

Well, it all depends how you like the game engine.  Try the demo, hop on
Laguna Seca, and if you like how the "game" (note I not used "simulator")
reacts, it's a good choice for hotlapping.  It's a personal choice, but
about all the SimRacing community (this mean at least more than 50%) don't
like how Microsoft did the "game".

They shot themselves in their feet in a certain way in many aspects of the
game, how they market it, etc...

CPR- for hot laps?

I can't lie, I would say CPR is worth 20 bucks to hot lap, but who wants to
hot lap when they can race it on a better sim?
