CPR will still sell like hot-cakes!

Unfortunately, the sad thing is that this game will still sell like it's
the best thing since.......oh, since MS Flight Simulator!

Why?  Because this NG is only a tiny, tiny representation of the
software-purchasing public and to a vast number of these people any game
with MS on it that will happily run from within Win95 will be snaffled
up and shoved into Xmas stockings faster than you can say "Twas the
night before Christmas"!

As a software retailer I dread what might happen about 2 or 3 days
later....................

Maybe....  But why did Dean go away ?? Because we were doing some bad things
to the C:PR sellings.  Yes. Fact.  More and more people come here to check
about racing games.  More each day.  Even if it was only 2000 people, 2000
non-sold copies is big.  But I also think that Micro$oft is doing big
publicity in stores with C:PR and will catch the mass critic people by
bundling it with new PC's, etc....    But we are a bigger mouth that you
think, we can boycott Cart:PR and make bad thing to Micro$oft I am sure of
that.  Not hurt a lot, but a little bit.

C:PR will be a hit for the mass critic gamers, but not to us, the real
racers, the serious ones.  It's like in the air sims.  I know plenty of
people that flame Micro$oft for FS98.  It's slow, too slow.  But hey it's
sells like hot bread to the mass gamers. But not to the serious simpilots.
Same thing with C:PR

Francois,

I went to the flight sim website (www.flightsim.com I think) and FS98 got
glowing reviews.  Where can I find this legion of FS98 haters? :)  I would love
to go and see what they have to say.

It suffors from the same problem as C:PR (a.k.a bad implemantation of 3d
accelerator technology).  Not that the simulator iusnt realistic (it is very
much indeed).   That`s why people hate it. Bad framerates even on high-tech
Pc`s with great 3D video cards.  And thanks for calling me Fran?ois ! (but
hey next time try to put an "?" instead of a "c")  lol just joking !

To a large extent I think the above is right. Still, I think that for every
sole on ras that posts there'd be a much larger number that just read. Also
I'm just one person but I know a number of others who are interested in
this kind of game. Most of them never post on ras and a number of them
don't 'surf' at all. Yet without exception, everyone who I have talked to
who has tried CPR has disliked it.

I was standing in a line just the other day at a demo of a Hyper Stimulator
driving input device. While waiting in line for my turn with several total
strangers the matter of CPR came up. ( The demo was being done on Gp2 BTW )
The several people in the line all agreed the CPR didn't cut it. I just
mention this to show that there's a much wider sphere of discerning sim
racers around than just those who post on ras. I suspect ras is still a
good pulse though.

BTW - I made the lap of the day on the demo. Unfortunately there was no
prise for it :-(

Fran?ois,

I didn't think the frame rates were bad but then I'm running on a P300
with a Riva 128.  I just wondered why I wasn't more blown away by the
additions since version 4!

Check it out :)

CPR will still sell like hot-cakes!

I don't agree with people who hat MS FS 98, it runs great on my system,  but
CPR is The opposite so far.

Are there other flight sims out there that are better than FS 98??? I
purchased Sierra Pro Pilot and returned it the next day!
The very first time I flew ,  the airspeed indicator said 50 kts but I had
no perception of speed as I went down the runway.
Among many other glaring problems I returned sierra Pro pilot.  F.S. 98 on
the other hand is a refinement of a good program.
I hope that MS is able to refine CPR to the level of FS 98.
