Yes!!!  Can't stand that one myself!  Although the one made for GP2 was really
nice, as I recall.  Another lousy one IMO is Mid-Ohio for ICR2.  Its a toss-up
which is worse!

1. Silverstone         - GPL
2. Imola                 - MGPRS2
3. Melbourne         - MGPRS2
4. Mexico              - GPL
5. Emipe City         - NSF3
6. Monza               - GPL
7. Austria               - MGPRS2

Looking at the other favorite's I guess I need to go out and buy SCGT.

Also, does any one know where you can get a copy of GP2 in the US?

Is that because it's not accurate, or you just don't like the track?

I didn't like it either at first, and I have a big problem with those
*** tyres in the ground - because I have to have details set to low,
they "pop" into view right in front of me and I can't always see them
until it's too late!

It's tricky to master the esses, but once I got down to about 1:50 I
found it a wonderful circuit for racing against the AI.

I think there was a quote in the book about a lot of racing drivers
liking it in real life, but not many people liking it in GPL, so perhaps
it is just that version of the track that's at fault.

Talledega?  Was that a troll?  One line, ***AI, no brakes,
tires don't matter, unnatural slipstreaming effects (no big packs).

You seem to like going fast.  In NASCAR, the new Atlanta in
N99 is pretty good.  Lotsa different lines, decent AI, tire management
matters.  In N2, maybe Michigan, C***te or Rockingham?

Personally, I like the challenge of Sears Point.

:   <Snippage>  I'm surprised nobody's mentionned Interlagos yet - my
: favourite track on any Sim that has it.  The Senna S is such a challenge
: and then the rhythm required for the slow mid section followed by the
: blast back along the pits.  Hills, slopes, slow turns, fast turns and
: banked bits - the track has everything.

Except I could never get a good setup there that got me through the mid
section!

Here's the limited selection from a non-accelerated notebook user:

1. Mosport - GP2 (go get it, then see how much wing you can take off
before T4 bites you)
2. Spa - GP2
3. Elkhart Lake - ICR2
4. Laguna Seca - ICR2
5. Alpine - NFS1 (but only in a 911)

I actually prefer Laguna Seca in ICR1 better.  You could go through
the downhill portion after the corkscrew full out without massive wing
and suspension changes.  The thing would hold on like it was on
rails..pretty much regardless of the setup.

Make sure you pick up a Voodoo-3 3DFX video card when you buy SCGT.
Not having 3DFX dones't do the game justice.

Nothing beats the graphics in SCGT in the rain.

Nice idea.

1) For sheer nostalgia... ICR2/Laguna Seca
2) For current pleasure... GPL/Zandvoort
3) For "weirdest racing experience"... N2/Bristol (What are all those
cars doing squashed onto a cycle track? :-)
4) Any track from Crammond's Revs... back when men were men and sims
were black&white.

Well it's tough keeping the car under you going into the corkscrew.
The visibility of the (top portion) of the apex is also limited since
it tends to blend in with other colours.  Too bad SCGT has the
long-stick things (the things that stick out of the ground and bend
over when you hit them only to rebound) are black.

Other than that, I really like SCGT at all tracks.

DjFI

My list.

Mentionables:
1998 Australian F1 (OF1R) - best track they did i think.
Vancouver - 98 layout (GP2 - user made) - awesome job.  I had loads of fun
running at my home town track.
Ska Valley Track (GP2 - user made) - Really intersting.  With those huge
untouchable curbs.  Almost flipped on them before.
F1 Indy Track (GP2 - user made) - Really nice preview of what it might be like.
[there's more.  but i forget.  some tracks its been a while.]

My top 10 tracks (mostly from sims):
10) "The last hidden track, forgot name.  It's been a while" (WipeOut XL\2097)
-bottom of the list because it aint a sim.  But as all the tracks were, its
beautifuly done.  and with all the walls so close it gives you a great sense of
speed.  and you never know, it may be come considered a sim one day. :)
9) Bristol (NR99)
-The ultimate stadium track.  High banks, and very little time for reaction
makes this a very exciting course.
8) Mugello (GP500 Demo)
- very well done.  so its not the design that makes it low, its the course.
7) Louisville (NR99 - Trucks)
- 1 word : unique.
6) Monaco (GP2)
- I havn't liked any other version since.  except maybe the one on F1 98 for
PSX.  OF1R is too hilly i think (espicaly how steap that one down to the first
hairpin is) and Ubisoft just sucks.
5) Nurburgring (GPL)
- couldn't have done much better with out having a time machiene.  Way to go
sierra.  But it aint my fave.
4) Sugo (SBK)
- only reason its up here is cause that damn chicane in the last long turn.  I
hate it to hell, but it makes the track what it is.
3) Assen (SBK and soon GP500)
- Long, fast and twisty.  Another beautiful track too.  I just love how it flows
through in those fast turns.  and it looks great.
2) Ultima Track (GP2 - Fan Track)
- If you've played this track you know what i mean.  16 of the most chalangeing
and famous turns of the Formula 1 Series.  And the graphics chance from track to
track was very well done.  But it ain't my favorite.
my all time favorite track:
1) Stew Lake - Full (GP2 - Fan Track)
I'm not shure if its actualy out there, but if so I wanna visit it.  This track
is ***in.  And the amazing thing is, that is created by a fan.  It has it
all.  Fast turns, top speed.  Banked turns.  What seams as a double diping
chicane, half up half down.  Tunnels.  Its all there.

some of my original post snipped
It wasn't a troll at all. But you hit the nail on the head.I LOVE to go
fast.I don't really race N2 at all anymore(until N3 that is !!!!!)  But
Talladega is the ULTIMATE go fast track. Just put the pedal to the metal and
keep it on the track.

My favorite sim tracks in order:
1. Nurburgring GPL - what an awesome track, still a thrill every lap! my fave!
2. Spa GPL - Eau Rouge->Malmedy->Masta->Stavelot all great corners in 1 track!
3. Elkhart Lake ICR2 - loved this track, spent tons of hours on it.
4. Monza GP2 - also another favorite, great feeling hitting the Lesmos right.
5. Long Beach ICR2 - my favorite ICR2 street course great tight corners.
6. Alpine NFS1 - spent tons of time on this track too, fun + almost feels real.
7. Coastal NFS1 - another great NFS track that feels almost like realife.
8. Monaco GPL - very hard track but the run uphill from St.Devote is thrilling
9. Spa F1RS - the reason I first understood why Eau Rouge is so special.
10. Laguna Seca ICR2 - the corkscrew.

Seeyas on the track.

Here's my list:

1.  Speedway from Powerslide (the closest thing we have to a sprint car
sim -- GET THIS GAME)
2.  Watkins Glen from GPL (can't drive it enough)
3.  Walt Disney World from ABC Indy Racing (I know you all hate the game,
but I love this track!)
4.  Indianapolis from ICR2 or from ABC Indy Racing (hey, it's Indy)
5.  Chatham from SCGT (underrated track -- fast and fun)
6.  Atlanta converted to ICR2 (why'd they change the real track?)
7  Dover converted to ICR2 (looks easy but it's not)
8.  Sunset Mesa from Viper Racing
9.  Mexico from GPL (you've gotta have Ricky Martin's rhythm to enjoy this
track! <G>)
10.  Sandblaster from Powerslide (makes me feel like Rick Mears or Robby
Gordon racing in the desert!)
