I think we can take it as a given that there will be some degree of
overall improvement to the graphics engine. Here is a summary of all
the comments thus far (in roughly chronological order):
- improved vehicle damage model, more realistic damage when hitting
the wall, etc.
- debris on track causes cut tires, more realistic tire wear, more
useful tire wear indicators / ability to see whilch part of a tire
that get's worn first.
- blown engines drop oil
- dynamic weather during race, dynamic time of day, fix the Daytona
sunset (what, exactly is wrong with it, anyway?)
- larger textures for cars / ability to paint wheels individually (per
car).
- more setup options, ability to change the brake bias during race.
- customizable drivers seating position (height, fore-aft) from
***pit view
- Hatswitch controls drivers view
- being able to see other driver's pitcrew's
- the ability to use worn ("scrubbed") tires during practise sessions
- improved spotter / crewchief i.e. give the spotter more "AI" (care
to expand on that?)
- better engine-damage model / ability to loose one cylinder and still
be able to complete the race (I think we get something close to this
now, at least until you enter your pits)
- a better solution to the "wall-riding problem" (any suggestions on
specifics?)
- option to force qualifying to make race.
- real time qualifying
- a trim tab for the controller...
- track editor
- console server app
- make car flipping / collision physics more realistic
- Get rid of cheesey WON and do something more like VROC (I've never
played using VROC, how is WON cheesy in comparison?)
- More road courses. (Well, we only have the two, you know)
- Allow us to add more "blank" skins to be used when we don't have
another online driver's car file.
- include the 2002 schedule (can't we sort of do this already by
editing the season.ini?)
- Chicagoland and Kansas.
- include a screen that shows when others pitted last.
If I left any out or summarized incorrectly, I apologize. Please feel
free to expand on any of these comments or make some new ones.
