F1Rs Multiplayer sucks

Just tried F1RS in multiplayer mode and it sucks; the 'other' cars jump all over
the place (especially when you get closer to them) and getting past them without
colliding seems impossible when there isn't much room (Monaco). Yes, I tried
just 2-player link (network) but the problem stays.

Damn!  If you've got a cable modem and you're still getting pings of around
400ms, you need a new ISP or something!  Playing Quake with a 33.6 modem, I
had typical pings of 200 - 300.  On our T1 at work, pings were more like 100
or less.  A cable modem should come somewhere in between there!

it's to play a network game, you need a ping below 400ms, my modemcable ping is
around 5ms when
connected to Kali server.

Something somewhere is lying to you (can anyone explain what?)

The best internet ping I have ever seen is when playing GLQuakeWorld
from my office on an E3 line, and connected to the server which was on
the SuperJANET optical network, on the same LAN and in the same office
(advantage? What advantage...?!). Even that gave a latency of 12ms, so
I reckon 5ms has got to be something screwy (unless of course you're
the server!).

Cheers!

According to the info on the Kali web site, the ping you see to the server
is meaningless--only the ping to the other players in the game are
important.
Once you start the game, the server is out of the loop.  This is different
from
TEN where the server seems to be running the game.
