GPL screen size

I have a problemI haven'e seen mentioned before.  My menu screens are too
wide in GPL, but when I to into the car, the screen width is correct.  If I
reduce the width of the GPL menu screens (on my monitor), the in car and my
desk top are too narrow.  My desktop and GPL are set to 800 x 600 and I have
a Voodoo III 2000.  This is a pain as when racing on line, I have to keep
changing screen size to chat before and after races.  Any ideas?

Adjust the V3 refresh rate for 640*480 ... You will need a third party
utillity! I would recomend the "Voodoo3 Overclocker Property" known as
V3OCPP, or check this page "
http://www.3dfxmania.com/utility/

If you want I can mail you the v3ocpp just lemme know it's 130kb fat!

I have a feeling his card isn't to blame. I think it's his monitor that
can't handle the refresh rate. The V3 2000 can easily handle 800 x 600. When
I used to run GPL on my 7 year old 14" monitor I would have to adjust the
screen size manually by adjusting the screen position dials if I went higher
than 800 x 600 even though I ran my desktop at 1024 x 768. On my 4 month old
19" monitor it doesn't think twice about whatever resolution I run GPL at.

I think you're correct, Michael.
As coincidence would have it, today I replaced my V2 with a V3 and my old (4
years) monitor just cannot spread the image out to the full width of the
screen in 1024 x 758 rez. whereas the V2 could.
New monitor coming right up. :o(

I was ready to install the 3d overclocker utility when I thought to try one
more thing.  Based upon the feedback on refresh rates, I went to the adaptor
tab in WIN98 on the 3dfx Voodoo3 Properties screen and tried several refresh
rate settings in the dropdown box.  Selecting "adaptor default" for the
refresh rate solved my problem.  It had been set to "optimal".  I guess
maybe letting the video card handle this instead of WIN98 is the way to go.
Thanks for the feedback.
