GPL - can't do screen captures, pbf files have size 0 :(

by keit » Thu, 29 Mar 2001 23:46:04

I thought it would be fun to try GPL MovieStudio and make an mpeg movie from a GPL
replay. I tried this, and all the generated *.pbf files had size 0. Okay, so I tried
just running GPL and using PrintScreen to capture a single pbf file, and that also
has size 0. Tried both the directx and opengl raster formats at 1024*768, both give
pbf files with size 0.

Anyone know how to solve this?

Keith.

You most likely DON'T have a 3dfx brand video card, I'm asssuming.
If so...you'll need to use a 3rd party screen-capture program like hypersnap
dl.
the nvidia cards were not compatible with Papyrus' print screen routine.

Ouch. Looks like making an mpeg movie will be out of the question then unless you
have a 3dfx card. My PC has a geForce2 GTS. One last try - will software rendering
work? Dog slow, but who knows.

Not sure about screen captures, but there is a Movie Maker for GPL that
works fine with the GF cards.  Don't have the URL handy, though,
sorry...........

I think you need Glide or Rendition to get pbf screenshots in GPL. Try
something like hypersnap if you're using D3D.
