F12K: Framerate vs screen size

Hi,

A saw a lot of talk about framerate in F12K but nothing about the
screen size those framerate were compile from. As someone has try it
at 640x480?

Thanks

But the graphics sucks at 640 X 480.
Only 1024 X 768 is pretty good for a F1 sim.

Hi Richard

A lot of folks will probably agree that part of the blame is not the
graphics card. Let me explain, I have a PII 400, 128MB and 32MB TNT2
card. When I run at 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768, I get very little
change in framerates. It is something like 1-3fps from small to large.
This would indicate that the blockage is other than the video card and
heck, I cant explain it but it does it!!

It is quite a shame that they didn't release a T&L version. With that stuff
off-loaded from the CPU, the CPU would have so much more time to calculate
the driving models. Collision detection at could rate back calling back to
the HW T&L engine can lessen the improvements but perhaps they would have
had enough room for a local copy for the CPU for what they would need for
that.

Hiya

I have at this point of time a mental blank. What is a T&L?

Transform and Lighting. The GeForce cards support it. Cards from some other
comapnies should support it too before the year is out.
