First GPL race is a bust

Bought GPL back in October for 6 bucks at an office depot, played for
two weeks using the F2 but got way to agrevated with it.  In February I
bought a steering wheel, played GPL for another 2 weeks(F2) but still
couldn't figure it out.  Now, a few days a go, I just decided to power
up GPL(using my stick becuase the wheel is on the fritz) and bam, all of
a sudden I was running consistent good laps at the Glen, Monza, and Spa
in the Eagle F2.  So today I decided it was time to race.  I set up a 33
lap long F2 race at the Glen, practice went ok, went off the course a
few times but was able to run a fast lap of 1:11.92, good enough to
start 9th.  I miffed the start, dropping 3 spots before the esses, but I
was able to gain one back before the outer loop.  So for the first ten
laps I ran well, settled in 10th after one of the leaders miffed it.
Lap 11 I was able to get around Surtees as he got stuck in traffic.  lap
16 was where everythign went wrong.  Heading towards the final turn,
Irwin drops an oil pump right in front of everyone.  A group of 4 cars(I
included) scrambles for safety, and we all get through alive but now
were are all bunched up heading into the esses.  Well, Pedro Rodriguez
then decides to give me no room through the first corner and we touch
wheels, sending us both to the barriers.  Therefor, my race is over.

Was fun anyways, I'll try Monza tommorow.

You make this sound like a bad thing. Sounds like great fun to me.
