F1-2K and Force Feedback

As I stated in a previous post, I've determined that the fastest way to
play F1-2K is to turn off force feedback on my Logitech wheel.  One thing
to ask, tho - is this indicative of other wheels?  How about other games
- does FF impact them to such a great degree?

The reason I ask is that a friend of mine is considering purchasing one
of these wheels for the same game - at this point, I want to tell him to
get the non-FF model.  But then again, if this is just a result of
something in the program, is it likely that someone can patch it so that
the FPS hit is lessened?  If so, it'd be worth it for him to get the
LWFF...

with ff my speed sucks (thrustmaster force gt wheel) but with ff off and the
mirrors off all is smooth. (piii 450 128mb matrox g400 32 mb. But the
graphics don't look that cutting edge for this kind of hit on your
processor. rc2000 looks much better and got better frame rates with all on
ff, 1024 32 bits most details full never a noticable hit in frame rate.
