GP3 - The Interview

GP3 - The Interview

by Chris Bloo » Sat, 22 Jan 2000 04:00:00

Firstly, I only managed to grab the first two pages of the Geoff Crammond
interview.  I believe there is at least another page, could someone please
e-mail it to me or tell me if it is on the web somewhere please?

Concern has been expressed elsewhere in this NG about all the cars having
the same power and obviously handling the same when being controlled by the
player.  Though I am a big fan of GP1/2 and I am eagerly anticipating GP3
this is worrying me a little.

I have come to enjoy the differances between cars in GPL aswell as SCGT.
Though GPL may seem to lack variety at a first glance, once you start to
experiment with differant cars and then F2 & F3 you realise there are
endless ways to make your races a little differant, especially against the
AI.

I'm sure GP3 will be a great sim but I'm also sure we might feel like
something has been missed (again!).

BTW: Will F1 2000 (I think thats the name, anyway the Image Space one) have
differant performance for differant teams?

Yeah most of us will take the McLaren, Ferrari or maybe Jordan anyway, so
its not biggie.

And it didn't exactlty take a long time to crack this for GP2, which
experience why should it be harder for for GP3? (Unless Geoff, added the
dreaded, crappy code as I like to call it, so you gotta crack that too
before you crack anything else.)  So lets stop talking about cracks and tal
about good old Irish Cric that we'll ahve with GP3:-)

P.S. Cric is an Irish

doesn't mean why all like to get high:-) )

We can be pretty sure the code will be well protected, they're going to
bring out GP4, 5, 6, 7, etc. probably based on this engine. They don't want
people to make their own season updates.

Which files did you get - I was only able to get "gp331" and "gp341"
from Remarq, as my ISP didn't catch them. They seem like the last
pages. How about a trade??
