Apparantly it is a good wheel. But for the most realism with rc2000, the act
labs wheel with the additional shifter may be the way to go. Their add on
shifter is gated, so you actually shift it.

Too bad most race cars, including most rally cars, use a sequential
shifter.....

Yea, but I'm always pushing the stupid shifter the wrong direction in
GPL because I'm trying to make it go the same way it should by looking
at my driver's shifter on the screen.

Which reminds me of one of my biggest complaints of GPL:  why didn't
they write the code with a buffer to store the player's shifting?  Say
you want to downshift two or more gears very quickly, you can't because
you have to wait for the on-screen driver to carefully complete each
shift first.  This is absolutely not realistic becase the '67 cars had
gated shifters in which the driver could skip as many gears as he
wished.  Of all the anoying things they did in the game to make it
realistic, they also had to add anoying things that make it not
realistic.  Oh well, that's what I get for being ***ed to GPL.  I
guess its better than *** or whatever.

I thought most rally cars were 6 or 7 speed, regular gated shifting. Anyway,
the Act Labs Shifter lets you pop on a template for sequential  shifting as
well.

The gates in the RS shifter are interchangeable, so you can put in the
up-down sequential gate if that's what you prefer.

But then you have what the Guillemot wheel (or the Saitek and others)
already provide...which was the original point.
