And thats a fact!
And thats a fact!
> And thats a fact!
Obviously, you've never seen the 1976 500, the '79 race, and a few
others...
Too bad that punk a$$ kid had to park Earnhardt in the fence to win
it...I know, dale said he pushed up off the corner and bounced into
"Jeffy", but I still think Gordon took 'im to the wall...
At least a Chevrolet won though...
WOW, that's all I can say. Although I'm fairly new to the sport, I can
safely say that this was the most exciting race I've ever seen. I was
on my feet for the last twenty laps, pulling big time for Bill Elliott.
And I was really impressed with CBS's coverage, except for a few Ken
Squier gaffs it was really excellent, I don't remember missing the
beginning of any incidents at this race.
Now, did anyone make a tape of the race? If so, I'm looking to get a
copy of it from someone. If you can help me out, email me.
Thanks!
Craig Jacobson
P.S. Welcome back Awesome Bill!
Watched the race on television and listened to live RealAudio in-car
radio transmissions through TheAutoChannel on my computer - Great race!
1988. Bobby Allison 1st, Davey Allison 2nd. Hard to get better than that.
: >And thats a fact!
: It sure was. Too bad CBS still doesn't have their act together. Elliot
: was in 4th or 5th, they break for a commercial, come back, and now
: he's in first. CBS didn't even bother to show the replay! They still
: have a lot to learn from the Big Boys. ( ESPN, TNN, etc... )
That isn't the only bug in CBS's program. I kept pressing F2, but
usually only got the top 4 or 6 runners. I think only twice was I able
to see the full field and where they were running. Damn it, when is the
patch coming out?! ;-)

Upside out, or inside down...False alarm the only game in town.

I was also impressed by Earnhardt. The car flipped over and was all bent
up, but he just had his crew tape the spoiler back on and then went out
again. Too bad they had that caution at the end of the race, or Terry
might have had a shot at the win.
Oh, if you havn't seen the race yet, don't read my other post about the
Daytona 500. I didn't say who won, but I still gave a few things away.
You should have watched some of the 1960's races, 429 hemis and
drivers with steel balls. Back then slower cars actually got lapped!
As for CBS, they didn't do a bad job, but Ken squire knows less about
NASCAR racing than I do about launching a space shuttle! (I know a
space shuttle goes up, and that's more than Squire knows!) And how
about CBS Driver Field. Did anyone notice they had the pole-sitter
(Skinner) on the left and Grissom on the right. I suppose that would
be right if they ran clockwise!
Oh well

Fewer lead changes and ended under caution. Are you sure it was the
best yet?

Very true, but you don't have to have contact to move another car.
While Dale was pushing off the turn, Jeff's pass did nothing to help
the situation. You really can't blame him though, as he was doing what
he had to do to try and win the race. How many times has Dale done the
same or worse on the way to a victory?

ditto.
Gordon had the line therefore Earnheart is supposed to let him by. Well
being his aggresive self, Earnheart was where he shoulden't have been. Then
again, from Earnhearts perspective he MIGHT not have seen gordon having the
line so he stood his ground. They both ran out of room and earnhardt was on
the outside. Earnheart tapped the wall, NO PROBLEM. Then Jarret freaked out
and swerved fliping over earnheart.
Watching people from both sides of the argument (Being a Ricky Rudd fan.
:) ) Earnheart fans think gordon is a young punk (not true) and gordon fans
think Earnheart is a old stinker not willing to give up the glory. (no
coment :) ) So now that someone that dosn't take sides says JARRET caused
the accident. :) Just kidding.
IT'S JUST RACING
