Does anyone know if there are any plans for a new cart game?
If so is there any time line when it could be released?

No not as of yet. Keeping my fingers crossed and I feel like a nice dunking cookie.

Does anyone know if there are any plans for a new cart game?
If so is there any time line when it could be released?

The latest release was Flag to Flag Cart Racing for the Dreamcast.  IT
has terrific graphics, but is nothing more than an arcade racer with
some sim elements.  I still like it, though.

there does not appear to be a cart sim for the near future.  The closest thing we will get is a CART carset for GP3 when that comes out, which might not be all that bad

Does anyone know if there are any plans for a new cart game?
If so is there any time line when it could be released?

Don't know of one, but it looks like maybe the split between IRL and
CART is finally coming home to roost with the fans and sponsors.  Maybe
CART should pay the development costs to Papyrus to make a sim based on
the GPL engine.  With the popularity of Papy's NASCAR series, CART is
likely to win new converts to their sport.

(one can dream can't they? <G>)

That sounds like a good idean Micheal, both for CART and for creating a GPL
based CART sim. Somebody needs to pass this to the right CART people.

Then somebody could to a track converter for the Indy track...and then Tony
George can go straight to hell.

Your absolutely right Michael.  True words of wisdom.  It would go to the
same point as having track sponsor actually paying for having their logos
all over the tracks.  But we aren't living in a utopian world, I would say
:(

Maybe someday? Let's hope all, to have a NON-STOCK CAR  sim by Papyrus.  8
out of 9 software coming out of Papyrus are Stock-car sims (going up to N4
and down to N2).  Anything, but in preference CART ;)

I love the Nascar games Papyrus has put out but I feel it is time for a CART
sim! The unfortunate thing for us Cart fans is that money talks (so we can
forget about a GPL2) and a I bet (GASP!) Nascar Pinball out sold GPL. I
could be wrong (I'm gonna get flamed for that statement if I'm!). What I'm
trying to say is that you could put Nascar on a poison bottle and it would
sell like hotcakes!

No flaming from me. GPl only sold 40,000 copies, so it's pretty safe to
assume that Nascar Pinball out sold it,everything out sold it.  But
Sierra/Papyrus is going to continue milking the Nascar sims till we just
plain get sick of them and stop buying every new release that's just about
the same as the last one.

Personally, I'm amazed that we got two upgrades from them. And yes, I
heard that it was done off hours, but I just don't buy that. Papyrus had to
approve it.
