Have discovered via first hand experience that a voodoo banshee card will
not work properly with GPL and DX7 installed unless you also install the dx7
complaint banshee reference drivers.
When I tried to run with ELSA's latest drivers for my banshee and DX7
installed on my cumputer the screen would garble and lock. DX7 complaint
reference drivers have fixed this problem

The installation of DX7 has nothing to do with it.
DX 7 racts differntly with all systems. I sem to be one of the lucky ones
who never has problems but I doubt that your probelm means that this will
not work with all systesm of this sort. My only problem is the occasional
*** on start-up but that was there even before DX7.
To combat in, I find if you set resolution and colour to the lowest setting
before starting the game it prevents hangs, this goes for all games. It
doesn't effect resolution insie the gaem either.
