GPL, Viper 550 & DX7

Is anybody running DX7 on a viper 550 yet & is GPL working OK? I have read
some good things about DX7 & its effect on the control interface but the
last time I upgraded DX it screwed my system & GPL in particular. Given that
you can't (easily) downgrade I thought it worth checking here first!

Have GPL 1.02 & am using the Papy Beta Open GL thing with Diamonds 3.53
drivers. All is stable now in 1024x768 & getting fairly solid 36FPS

I run DX7 + Nvidia 3.53 reference drivers since monday. GPL 1.2 with Beta
OpenGL. Everything looks good, and performance is much better than with the
NVidia 0.48 reference drivers I used until now (with DX6.1). I set the
Buffer flipping mode to 'Use block transfer' as someone here on ras
suggested.
