Help needed with GPL and Viper 550

I'm running GPL v1.0.0.0 with Viper 550 TNT on Win 95 OSR2. Directx 6.1,
0.48 nVidia reference drivers, Beta 2 OpenGL driver.

I run GPL and get the following trap

GPL caused an invalid page fault in
module GLU32.DLL at 0137:7e957b7e.

Has anyone seen this or know how to fix it ?

DirectX 6.1 is the culprit I think - I found it V unstable with my V550.
Unfortunatly removing it is very difficukt if not damn nigh impossible
without reinstalling Win 98. Gone back to DX 6.0 & all is well.
