the next hardware upgrade ?

OK any help please ?

I have an overclocked Celeron 266 (to 400)
Hercy Thriller AGP 8MB
128MB PC100 Ram

i am only getting the odd slowdown in GPL (ie in traffic to about 25
fps) but am still not satisfied.

Can anyone recommend a PCI soundcard, or a gamecard that would relieve
strain from CPU, so boosting frame rate.

Thanks

Iggy (love that handle, by the way,)
The Hercules board is great for GPL, especially since the native
Rendition acceleration looks better than the 3dfx version. That said, a
good upgrade for you would be twin 12meg Voodoo2 boards running in SLI
mode. You could then run at 1024x768 and framerate should still be good
with your rig. Plus, with both the Herc for Rendition, and dual Voodoo's
in your beast, you can pretty much rock to anything that strikes your
fancy. Killer setup, no doubt about it.
    All the best, Mike
