Colin McRae 2 and Ferrari Force Feedback wheel

Try as I might I just cannot get CMR2 to recognise my wheel or pedals. I use
it in several other driving games without any grief including Force Feedback
but for some reason in CMR2 within the options screen the only controller
available is keyboard. I am using USB and Windows 2000 SP2. TIA
