Sayonara Papy -NASCAR REVOLUTION RULES!

by 18pac » Mon, 14 Dec 1998 04:00:00

I can't believe none of you rubes has posted about the awesome EASports
NASCAR sim "NASCAR Revolution".

If you haven't seen it yet you need to get on over to easports.com and
download this superior demo.

You will be amazed at the physics model and the graphics. This is sorta
like NASCAR99 using the Viper Racing engine.

Spectacular barrel rolls and end over end crashes! Fully animated pit stops
and pit crews! Throaty growling stock car engine sounds! Cars painted to
the greatest detail!! Benny Parsons Broadcasting live! Superior Artificial
Intelligence! Awesome driving views! A true feeling of speed! I can't say
enough about this game! You gotta try it.

This is just a beta demo of a sim to be released in Feb 99 and if we can
pursuade EA sports to throw in a few mods this has the potential of easily
unseating Papy as the king of NASCAR driving sims.

Sorry, but after downloading a virus from www.easports.com, I'm not too
enthusiastic about downloading the NASCAR Revolution demo. (In other words,
EA is on my companies not to trust list)

Couple of other notes to throw in there. NASCAR Revolution will not be able
to replace Papy. First reason, hard core sim racer dedication. While N-Rev
may be a great arcade game, may even be sim quality, but trying to take
dedeicated Papy fans away from Papy sims, is like trying to get an
***ic to give up beer. Plus also, with the NROS starting up...'nough
said there <G>. Second reason, Papy's got the tracks. About 35 tracks in
NASCAR 1999 Edition. Sure, they don't have Daytona, the Brickyard, and
Pocono got taken away, but from what I read about N-Rev is that it will
contain 16 tracks. Third reason, Papy's sims have cutomizability. From the
looks of N-Rev, no car painting. I dunno about the rest of you, but
sometimes I like to be able to download a BGN car set, ARCA car set, ASA
car set.

Now, me being me, I'm still going to end up buying N-Rev cause I enjoyed
N99 on Nintendo 64, but EA isn't going to be able to dethrone Papy quite
just yet. <G>

Revolution  was deleted from my drive after about 4 laps!  This software is
laughable  compared to Nascar99.

All that plus a *** virus thrown in for free.  I downloaded the game
demo and ended up with Empire Monkey.c, a boot sector virus.  I ran
the demo a few times, then deleted it.  It's an arcade game, not a
sim.

Oh sorry about that. I should have first posted the following disclaimer:

"For all of you geeks with no life that actually have the time to find out
if someone had ever posted to any newsgroup before so as to ignorantly
flame him please do not read my post"

BTW asswipes, please in your infinite wisdom, tell me why, when EASports
releases NASCAR Revolution in February it will not unseat NR99 (NASCAR 3
still won't be out)? Because you know as well as anyone Papy's stellar
record of making release dates, oh wise denizens of the internet (AKA
***-less & date-less).

Because whether or not NASCAR 3 is around, as far as I can see from
the demo it will not even approach Powerslide or Viper Racing - and
that's even before TOCA2 hits the stands.

Cheers!
