True.
It seems totally accepted today that you buy an unfinished product and have
to be thankful if they bring out a patch.
Sad, but true...

Go into opponent manager, open each AI driver's "ratings", and tone
down the "aggression" rating significantly, something like Min-15
Max-30. You should find a much more realistic, raceable AI.
Am I the only person in the world who has done this?
THINK, people.

No, I posted to do this and was soundly ignored.
People are used to being spoon-fed I guess.
Please sir...may I have some more???
there are a couple options that can be edited. However I'm concerned if we
all get
a 100 different settings...how will we judge our times? And could it
"possibly" affect
the multiplayr connection? These are some questions that need to be
answered before
the world jumps on the bandwagon.

Dave,
Our paths cross again! Been touting your Dale Sr. / Jean Pierre
theories here too? Hehehe.
As for N4, I am sure that Papy or someone associated with 'The Pits' will
create a 'Save Race' patch. Seems to me they did the same thing with N99 a few
years ago. Why it was not included here after the stink we put up when they
left it out last time is beyond me. That seems to me the most significant
weakness of N4. I agree that N4 has it's issues, but lets be real. This is one
serious piece of software. You just have to tweak it to your own individual
preferences and requirements and the ability to do so is all right there. All
these people saying it is junk and claim they are taking it back are either
impatient, intolerant of an interface they won't take the time to learn,
clueless about how to make the game do what they expect, or are just plain
dense.( Puts on 'flame' retardant nomex suit and waits for the above listed
individuals to post 'hot lap' comebacks ).
I think the real problem here is many of the average 'Joe Gamers' ( who do
not read all the previews ) expected a further update of the old NASCAR series,
got a lot more than they bargained for and found it was more than they could
handle. Those of us who have been quietly enjoying the complexity and
difficulty of GPL for the last few years knew better when we heard what Papy
planned to do. In a way, it is a microcosm of what we were talking about in the
'Grand Prix' posts. "If it rumbles, it's from Dixie. If it whines it's from
Europe and never the twain shall meet."
I think most die hard Papy racing sim fans are eating this sim up and can't
get enough. Typically, newsgroups are flooded with the negative comments about
a new sim. Why? Because most people are to busy enjoying it to take the time to
write about how much they like it, while those few who are unhappy need to vent
their frustrations. Loudly. How do I know this? Easy. This is N4. It was
preceded by N3, NASCAR Legends, N99, Grand Prix Legends, N2, NASCAR Racing,
IndyCar Racing, Indianapolis 500. All from Papyrus. If racing sim fans weren't
very satisfied with the run of Papyrus products over the last 10 years, we
wouldn't have an N4 for those few who are unhappy with it to complain about.
Papy would have been bankrupt and gone years ago if customers weren't very
happy with the product. That's just basic business 101. Customers = Success =
Repeat Customers = Long Term Success.
As for a patch, it will come and many of the negative comments will just be
forgotten. It always does and they always are. In the meantime, it's the ones
who just don't get it that are complaining.
As for me, the car just needs a few more laps ands a few more adjustments
and a few more laps and the track is currently available..........
