Hi All,
Anyone experience problems with N2 Multiplay. What i mean is
that either a network or modem game the player who logs on second can
only get about six cars viewed in front. The main machine can get the
whole 39 and pace car all viewed in front. Switching around and and
using the other machine as the main machine has the same results. We
both have Pentium 133s running svga and 39 ahead. Are we doing
something wrong or is there a problem..?

I thought it was either 10 or 12 cars viewable max. for all clients. What we
come up with was to also limit the server to that limit. I'm using 12 on the
server. But for sure their is a limit and we all have it. Performance reasons.

Just noticed that...  Yep, the answering computer here has all 39 but the
caller only has around six.  Wierd.

Also,  we went straight to race, with no qual, and the answering computer
car was last, but the callers car was on the outside pole.  Is this being
looked at?

Thanks for the info Randy. Bit of a bummer really but if thats the
case well so be it. Indycar seems to be fine with all cars on both
machines so I presumed I might have been doing something wrong. Oh
well thems the breaks i think I can live with it...:-)

This is "normal" behavior.  The amount of data needed to keep
39 cars moving accurately far exceeds the bandwidth available
over a 9600 baud modem.  And it seemks like the game doesn't
use the extra bandwidth available with higher speed modems
and network connections.

There's a limited amount of bandwidth to send car data over the modem line.
At 9600 baud, you get about 10 cars, 6 ahead and 4 behind. Unfortunately,
the program doesn't adjust to the available bandwidth, so even if you're
running at 33.6, you still get 10 cars.

Are you sure the other guy didn't qualify?  This is how my buddy and I
start all the time.  We are always the last two cars.
