Problem with Multi-Play in NASCAR99

I have 2 pc's in my home, so multiplay would be great.  My problem is this:
After I connect, I can set up the race screen, (length, damage, ect.). Then
when I click race, to get to practice screen, the dialing modem hangs up,
everytime.  Modem will stay connected forever, until I click race in lower
corner.  Any suggestions?
