Pro Digital is always a problem now...

... Thrustmaster Pro Digital NASCAR Racing Wheel has not worked correctly
since WinXP.

Under Win2000 the drivers have a very nice controler that lets you control
all aspects of the wheel. You can assign the pedles to different possitions
and finely callibrate all.

Under WinXP you get nothing! Nothing but a stupid, simple WInXP USB game
generic controller setup which is***poor! I have maybe one game that
actually woks with it (NFSPU) all others work like shit if at all. Pedels
are poorly calligrated and can not be (Windows claims it can but can't).

Am I alone?

Please share.

Is that a Pro Digital 2?

I know I used to use that wheel.  I got so disgusted with TM's support and
the juvenile drivers that I finally bought a LWFF.

The problem is not XP: it's TM's drivers.  I remember when TM put out its
first XP driver for the NPD2.  It had a serious flaw, which caused the user
to have to reboot (a rarity with XP).  It took TM a half a year to release a
fix, while they still contended, wrongly, that the default drivers for XP
would work with the NPD2.

That whole ordeal turned me to Logitech.  They make better wheels, have
better support, and have much, much better drivers.

I never had any luck with the drivers for that wheel. My solution was to
remove the drivers for it and then install it as an HID device (3 axis, 8
button joystick). This worked beautiful for GPL and the Nascar series, not
sure about F1 sims and the such. I suppose it wouldnt be an issue though.
For the record, i still run Win98 so im only guessing that this will also
work for XP. Good Luck !
