No! No! Leave it or add D3D support! (One PC runs a 4MB Stealth II Rendition

40+ FPS)  I like my $30 rendition!

I disagree on the tobacco and *** advertising.  We ALREADY have enough
groups saying that computer games are warping our young people.  We don't need
to give them any more ammunition...

I thought that was an OLD card...?

[snip]

Agreed

Why not?

You want to DRIVE into Victory lane?  Why?  That just takes more time away from
RACING!<g>

Ok, this might be fun to see once or twice - after that, I think most people
would turn these effects OFF.

And when would WE see the AI pit stops?  Are you going to watch the race
replay?  I like the changing weather, though.

Of course it should have tobacco/***/whatever ads. We are talking
about sims, not about toys.

People should realise that a sim or a modelcar or a modelkit is meant as a
copy that is as exact as possible, not a toy to give to a 5-year old boy.
Therefore, all racing sims and minichamps-cars should have the proper
Winfield/West/Mildseven/Whatever ads, all WW II kits of german
tanks/planes/trains  should have swastikas if they had them in reality
etc.

Can't those politicians understand that I don't start smoking if I would
buy a JPS-sponsored Lotus 79 car-model or that I won't join the KKK or
something else if I built a Tiger-tank with a swastika on in???

I believe you.  *I* don't think the influence is that strong.  Hey, I've
studied WWII since I was a kid.  I've also played DOOM, and I listen to Rap
music.  I'm still not about to go on a shooting spree.  I just get tired of
people blaming everyone else but THEMSELVES.  And, I'm *sure* someone would
complain about 'vice' advertising in a game...

Naaah, they probably can't. Filtering incoming information takes brains,
living in the real world and common sense, all qualities which render you
unqualified for any job within politics. -;)

To me that doesn't really matter.  It simply doesn't happen that often in
CART racing to make it worthwhile to include in the game.

Yes, especially considering all the different types they use to protect
drivers. :)

As long as they don't fly as well as GPL cars. :)  Sometimes I think even
Michael Jordan would be jealous of how the GPL cars can take off. :)

Yup!

Yeah, but if you have just won a virtual 500 miler at Michigan or a hard
fought battle in the streets of Detroit, dont you want the satisfaction? ;)

Dunno, I definetly want to see the "widescreen" setup that GPL uses for a
view as it definetly gives more peripheral vision.

I would...especially if they are just 2D animated bitmaps.  If its full 3d
models, probably not..immersion factor and all. :)  I'd like to feel like I
was Michael Andretti. :)

'sides, when it does happen you can't see it anyway. Hey! Maybe it is already
in IRC2! It has happened to me several times after big crashes that I haven't
been able to see the flames, just as in RL! Good job by papy to model that so
exactly!

You can see oil fires however.  ;)  And I have to plug my work really quick as
it fits in with this...  goto my website at
http://members.xoom.com/simcrash1/simcrash and get my fire patch for ICR2 if
you want those oil fires.  Yes, I know the patch has some bugs to it, but I
can't fix that.  I used the same fire rountine that ICR1 had in it basically, I
just made much much better graphics for the fire.
