Does GPL work well with Diamond Fire GL1000 card ?

Hi,

somewhat surprisingly, I've only just come across GPL (having raced GP2 for
some time), and have been blown away by the screenshots I've seen. What I
would like to know is what sort of machine configuration I need to get to
run this.

I currently have an NT4 box, with twin 333mhz PIIs, 128meg and a Diamond
Fire GL1000 card. I assume that I'll have to dual boot with Win95, and that
the game will only use one processor, but will I have to replace the
graphics card, or do I need to add an extra card to get the Voodoo (?)
graphics quality ? I'll admit I know nothing about Voodoo/3D accelerators
(having built my box for NT software development), but would appreciate any
views/suggestions.

Also, having had the briefest of looks at the demo version, would I be right
in saying that this game is almost unplayable with just the keyboard ?

Thanks,
Ross

.........
I run the game on a P2 300mhz 64mb with a 12Mb Voodoo2 with good results.
32-36fps most of the time with almost all details maxed at 800X600(all but
track and car textures off in mirrors).  17-19fps  in traffic at the start
of the race  (I run with 7 AI cars), dipping down to  22-25fps  when I meet
2 or three cars on the track.  I would say the only thing your machine will
need is a Voodoo2 accellerator, or a Thriller 3d 8 mb.  It may run ok with
the new Open GL patch on you machine, but I can't vouch for that.  Finally,
the game definitely cries out for a good joystick, or even better a steering
wheel, the on/off action of the keyboard is just too much for a game like
GPL that requires alot of precise control.
