I'm running a p233mmx-64mb rig, and i get a slight (1-2fps) improvement from
my Rendition
V1000 card (3dblaster) over my Voodoo1 (Monster3d). Racing at Spa with
5cc's-detail bias 30%-cars
only in mirrors & few trackside objects, i get 16fps on
the grid and average about 20 in the race. I won't be upgrading my cpu till
next year, so would the 8mb Hercules Thriller improve my situation enough to
justify the expense.
TIA Phil

There alot of combinations of details but I think you'll get 5-10 more fps.
my old 200mmw.64.8meg thriller with 5cars, all objects, min, sounds 50%bias
and only trackand car textures got 30+fps in traffic. my new 300celeron
overclocked to 374 with all cars and all graphics gets 20 at the start and
30+ in traffic. Lots of bucks but what an awesome difference. I've seen 8
meg thrillers for as low as 125$. Check pricewatch.com and cmpexpress.com

Most definitely. I am running a 233 mmx system, 64 mb of ram, and get very
good results with the Herc Thriller 8mb card.
With mirrors set at car and track, cloud textures off, and detail bias in
the middle, I get app 14 on the grid, and mid 20's with some high 20's on
the track.
