GPL Questions ?

by Tim Deatherag » Tue, 07 Jul 1998 04:00:00

I am paying my dues by practicing & trying to get some good consistent lap
times but I have several questions:

    1. Are the timing lights at the Start-Finish line? The game gives you
the lap time as you're coming out of the last turn (well before the start
Line) Is this from the previous lap ? Any other way to get a lap time
quicker ? ( I.e. I don't want to wait almost a lap to get my time !)

 2. The engine sounds great but I  as I'm going to the U.S. Grand Prix
screen I hear something that is garbled that sounds like it coming over the
track loudspeaker system...What is the announcer  saying ? is it supposed to
be garbled? When I went back checked my Sound Quality options ( e.g. 8 bit
vs. 16bit) they're grayed out ?
Do I need to change Win95 sound options?

Thanks for the help !
Tim

Yes, the timing is for the previous lap. You have to remember thgat is
was done by hand-held stopwatch and pit board messages back then.

Yes, the sounds are correct and are meant to give a background
atmosphere...crowd noises, etc.
