AFAIK, the GPL Demo sounds are just placeholders from N2. There are patches to
fix this. Maybe some of the beta testers can tell us if the new sounds are
better.

Toby....
Herewith some answers:-

Yes...the sound has been taken from NASCAR2 and is a "place-filler".

Yes.....there are some sounds available at The Apex.

No....it won't blow anything in the demo and it won't lose time but for
realism you can lift.  Whether the finished product will have engine
damage as a result of not lifting remains to be seen.

No

Turn mirror detail right down....I just have very basic detail in the
mirrors.  You can turn off the drivers arms but, for me, doing so now
results in a huge loss of "realism".  Make sure that your sounds are set
no higher than 4 and you can also adjust the resolution...try it in 640
x 480 if you've been running it at a higher resolution.  These
adjustments are, of sourse, personal and may not suit everyone.

No.

Yes, The Apex site at http://gpl.gamestats.com
(You can also check my site below, which is related more to the actual
1967 season than to GPL itself.)
