I finally got  a chance to watch the Cleveland Cart race.  One thing I
noticed was the near oval like camber settings the cars had.  the outside
wheels were set to a negative camber and the inside(right) were set to a
positive camber of near equal angles.  Cleveland's turns are almost all
right handers so shading the camber would make sense, but I don't recall
seeing suc parallel wheels like that on a road course../   /
On tracks that have a pre-*** right or left-handedness, would a
positive/negative camber help more than a negative/negative camber?

You'd generally dial the camber in according to the TAT (temps across the
tread), fine-tuned by some empirical experience, so, sure, you might wind up
with neg/pos cambers.

Hehe... I just got back from that race yesterday. One of my best friend Ken
B. works for Walker Racing. He is in charge of Data Acquisition for Darren
Manning's #15 car.
He took me and my buddy into an air conditioned trailer and showed us
telemetry info on a laptop for the qualifying session. What cool stuff. VERY
detailed!
Sorry, I get e***d easily, oops.  <;)  Anyway, I did notice the same thing
with the camber, I guess it should work the same in Sims.

Since he is directly involved in the car setup at every circuit, I will call
him tonight in Indy and try to get more info on this...

On a side note, is it okay to attach a picture or two to posts in this
newsgroup? If so, what is the best size to make 'em?

Not really okay to post in this group...theres a binaries group that you
should link too. Main reason it isn't okay is that everyone would have to
download it, and only a select few might be interested.

Cool, I'm glad I asked.
Thanks  ;)

Just adding something to Stuart's reply here, there's also the fact that
many ISP's, such as mine, strip binary attachments (pics etc) from posts
in non binary groups, so I wouldn't get to see it even though I might be
interested

Therefor it makes more sense to post them in
alt.binaries.simulators.autos which is the binary "twin" to this group
so to speak

Fantastic, Pete!  I'm very jealous! :-D

If you want to, email the pictures to me and I'll post them at my site (after
studying them carefully, of course ;-)), then put a link here.  Seems a bit
more direct and simple than going through the binaries group.
