We know Jr. & Kevin Harvick worked on N4. I heard Harvick on Fox one
day talking about it after he won at Atlanta.

I've read that Juan Montoya likes GP2 & GPL.

Does anyone know of any other information about real race drivers and how
some of them are really into the race sims?
Thanks

Montoya recently mentioned GP2 in an interview.  I wonder why he didn't
upgrade to GP3?

I read about Montoya in a *** mag called "Incite" that is now out of
business it seems. I think that interview was before GP3.

He also said he used CART Precision Racing to learn the
tracks before his first season in CART. As I recall, Chip Ganassi
also said that he thought the younger generation of drivers who
group in the video age were benefited from increased hand/eye
coordination skills because of this exposure. I know a WOC
driver who loves DTRSC.

The guy on FOX nascar announcer (think it was Reynolds) said on tv that his son
drove over 200 laps on his computer and was suprised at how realistic it was.
Mustve been n3 or n4

Snake Racing Funny Car driver Ron Capps came in second recently in an
NHRA Drag Racing 2 online event,  then won the real NHRA event last weekend
:)
Ron was a consultant for both NHRA 1 and 2.

I got to talk with funny car driver Whit Bazemore last year
and found out that he enjoys racing GPL in his off season.

Check out the GPL ranks of Kevin Firlien and Susan Archer. Ok, you arn't
going to see them on Sunday afternoon on Fox but they're real drivers
nonetheless and you just MIGHT catch them on Speedvision.

Not all real drivers are famous. Not all famous drivers are good.

It was widely reported during Jacques Villeneuve's first year in Formula 1
(1996) that he used GP2 to learn tracks.  The game came out midway through
that season, so he didn't have it for many of the races, but he did credit
it with helping him obtain pole at Spa.

It's also reported that one of Dannii Minogue's gripes when she left him was
that he spent too much time playing "dungeons and dragons on the internet"

On the other hand some famous drivers know what's good when they see it!

I've been racing Legendscars for over a year, do I count???  :)

I've found it helps going both ways.  My online racing has improved
my real racing and vice versa, especially the short flat tracks like
I normally race on.

As far as that goes,  the car setup stuff I've learned was helped in
both aspects, too.

Tim.
