And also my wish.

Three of four months ago I thought touring car sim would be a bad idea,
but after learning Watkins Glen (Nascar Racing) this is the thing I'm
waiting for.  If F1GP II has a good game engine, maybe a DTM/ITC or BTCC
simulation could be the next step after the Superbike simulation (I'm
not really interested about motorcycle racing, so I'm not sure if I'll
buy that)?

Thank god!
I posted  a "Most Wanted Sim!"-message here half a year ago, but nobody
followed, and I stated that I had to be all alone, dreaming of a sim which
could give us the Mondeo, Alfa 155, Bimmer 320i, Primera and so on...
This is really one of the most interesting championships going on.  Mostly
because of the cars they are using.  More or less available for all of us
(with _some_ modifications :).

Thanks Steve & Stuart :)

I'm very keen to see the Bike sim too. I'll be very interested to see
how leaning the bike is modelled and handled via a PC control
mechanism. I also like the Motorbike series' so I'm just as interested
in a sim for this as a car sim. However, there are several 'standards'
as far as car sims go (Revs, F1GP, ICR, NCR) but nothing, AFAIK, for
bikes. Will one be a good simulation or just a game I wonder?

Any chance of a post detailing any FTP locations for these things?!
This thread has really got me going!

Why focus on the just BTCC, when it would killer to combined all the best
tracks and cars from the  TCC (2.0 liter classes) from around the world into
one Touring Car sim?  Maybe call it WTCC?  Think of how many different
car choices that would allow.

Distribution:

I downloaded the c64-emulator for PCs some time ago and also installed Revs
but had some problems with the keyboard layout on the PC.
On the c64 you could shift down with the "cntrl"-key, which is where the
tab-key is on the PC. This was very comfortable and easy to learn.
Unfortunately the emulator wants me to use the Ctrl-key in the lower left
corner in the keyboard which is _very_ difficult to handle. When
I try to brake, I have to twist my left hand and also let go of the other
important keys.
Now, does anybody know how I could remap or exchange these keys so that
I can use the tab-key for example ? As long as I don t have to use
a joystick all other suggestions are welcome too. :)
Thanks for any help.

PS :    Gizmo : If you really start up a REVS- HALL OF FAME, put me in
        immedeately...  :)

I still have my copy from my c64 days.....

I loved it and all my friends loved it....

Different style of game but I think Stunts by Broderbund beats it on the race
game / simulator stakes.... (IMHO)

I use the PC64 emulator because I think it to be most compatible
with most c64 games. Besides, you can change the processing
speed of the c64-emulation. Ever seen Revs run completely smoothly
and revving up at a speed so that hardly have the time to shift ?  :)
If you have www-access you can try the address :

 http://www.hut.fi:8080/~msmakela/cbm/emul/

There you should find some other emulators too..

In case you cannot access www, you might want try ftp to :

 watson.mbb.sfu.ca
frodo.hiof.no  ( I tried that one today but got a connection refused )
 ftp.funet.fi
 ftp.giga.or.at

I did not test these sites. They were just mentioned in the
www-page above...

Hope it helps..

: I personally think that The Sentinel was a great game, an would love to
: play it on an Arc, so how about converting this as well?  It may have
: been a difficult to get into, but once you had it was very ***ive.

Yes, The Sentinel. Damn fine graphics for the Beeb, that one had. And those
atmospheric tunes. That could make a nice game on the Arc - nothing special,
just a nice way to spend a few hours (and with quicker motion than the Beeb
had, it could be very playable indeed). That sense of panic you felt when
something had it's eyes on you, and you were desperately searching around
for trees before you disintergrated. Considering what it was, it could
become very fast moving. Pity about not being able to get anything once
the Sentinel was gone, though. I would love to be able to pile a massive
tower of boulders on top of his tower, just to see what the view from the
top was like, and then still be able to advance quite a few levels further.

Hi There!

I used to have a C64 and than I bought my Amiga. I was practicaly crying for
a good auto simulator. Revs was my best. I think the dynamcs were better
than in amiga version of F1GP. I have a PC now :( but I think Indycar and
Nascar are better than revs. The cars are pretty realistic. However I would
appreciate if someone could point me to a c64 simulator, I woud like to try
it out! And revs also

Thanks for your time!

Greetings from rainy (granates) Croatia!
