Still think the "canned" spins in GP3 are uncatchable?

I just got the game yesterday, have about 6 hours in now. With my Force
RS I can catch the car most of the time.I think the "canned spin"
people are full of it.The "recovery envelope" is much shorter than
GPL,maybe why some people can't catch the spin.

Same deal here, except with an old non-FF wheel.  I just won a 3 lapper at
Hockenheim even though I did a huge opposite lock slide through the second
chicane on the second lap of the race.  And the reason it's harder to catch a
spin on GP3 is because of the modern F1 car.  With the wings used for most of
the grip, the car gets sideways and suddenly loses most of that aerodynamic
grip and the grooved tires also lose their grip quickly, making it very hard to
save a spin.

It seems to me that you can find out if the spins are canned by going
out in wet weather with slicks and no wing. You should be able to get a
nice drift going in that setup.

They are catchable IMO, but the way of catching is different to GPL. In GPL
you often floor the throttle to stop this.
Don't do that in GP3, that;ll help t the spin, come right off the power and
give just a little opposite lock. Just a little flick the other way, doing
it like GPL will also make you spin. They're hard to control but they are
controllable.

No, I'm sure they're not.  Because they can't catch a spin, therefore it's
canned.  Perfect logic.

BTW - By the same logic, most of the time my road car's spins are canned
too....... <g>

Cheers!

Wouldn't that be expected for a car that has mostly aero grip?  When you lose
it, it goes FAST...

Exactly!Plus grooved tires makes for less mechanical grip. From '67 to
'98 things changed just a little 8 )
