I can load everything and the mouse works fine (although
it is invisible) on the left hand menu, but when clicking on
the green button nothing happens...
Id love to get that 60% speed improvment....

You won't get any improvement on a Voodoo2 with the D3d patch, it only makes
it go slower... the D3d patch is for TNT/GeForce cards...
The D3D patch is for use on primary video cards that do not support Glide.
The V2 is not a primary video card and ONLY supports Glide.
It would work just fine on a V3 which is a primary video card, but there
wouldn't be any point because Glide works just fine. GPL was written
optimized for Glide, which was the primier 3D API of the time. D3D is
Microsoft's own propriatary 3D API, in competition with both Glide and
OpenGL. It is generally considered inferior to the other two by games
programers but has this one distinct advantage, If your video card is
supported by Windows it will ALWAYS work in a game that supports it.
Thus the REAL importance of the D3D patch is that GPL will remain playable
as long as Windows, as we know it, supports your video card, no matter who
makes it.
By the way, the 60% frame rate increase is only compared the the OpenGL
patch with one of the modern OpenGL based cards.
What this patch means for you, specifically, is that when you upgrade from
the V2 you now have a wider choice of acceptable cards to choose from and
maintain your ability to play GPL in an accetpable manner.

You are quite welcome. When I'm not intentionally trying to be a smart ass I
try for insightful.
Of course, sometimes it just comes out inciteful. Go figure. :)
NOT TRUE, simply not true!
That said.... I'd agree you'll get much better preformance with GLIDE on
your Voodoo II than trying to run D3D with it, at least that's that case
with me.
Which part of my statement do you believe to be not true?
