Have I missed something.....

I cant get my creative Lab voodoo2 card to work with GPL all I get is a
black screen. It works fine on software accelaration but not with my 3dfx
card.

Thanks

In the V2 control panel in display properties, under the Advanced button...
Force Trilinear texture filtering for Direct3D games must be unchecked.  I
think this was in the readme.txt for the game.  If I remember correctly,
this is what fixed it for me.

Use your Voodoo Control Panel to change the  options. That'll clear up black
area.

In the ADVANCED Control Panel Selection
CHECK..that's right CHECK the following:

1] The top 3 out of the 4 Direct 3D Advanced

2nd part..

2] First 2 of the Glide properties.

All I can say is that it works for me....

Good Luck!

Tried all that, didn't make any difference.

could it be anything too do with directX version as I've installed some
games that have only just came out and they may have insatlled  a newer ver
of directX than GPL was tested on.

Although I not sure what version of directX I've got...

The newest games I have are:

 Tomb Raider 3
Combat Flight simm
Wargasm

Is anybody else running these games......

Thanks

Steve

Have u tried the brand new CL drivers released only a couple of days
ago, I'm using them on my Righteous 3d2's and they work fine ,it found
both and installed software for each all in 1 go.
The easiest to install yet, replaced everything it needed to ,without
having to delete anything 1st and they are the 1st drivers to use the
final release of dx6. Have u tried the sweep utility to clean out any
old versions .
It sounds to me like a similar problem I had ages ago (with V1 then )
when u have actually installed parts from 2 different sets of drivers
and some things work fine and others don't.

Used to have same problem if the wrong glide version was loaded in game
directory on V1 I don't know if it is relevant on v2.

Cant imagine this being the problem ,but u haven't got your card set at
too high a refresh rate for 640*480 have u?

anyway good luck

Check out Microsofts directX pages, they have a problem solving page
(including black screens) at

http://support.microsoft.com/support/directx/directx_6.0/tshooter/def...
for directx 6

http://support.microsoft.com/support/directx/tshooter/default.asp for
directx 5

I don't think you've done it wrong, but you did use the VGA pass
through thingy, didn't you?
