just installed directx9 but my pc seems to run all the games slower,
whats the score?
how can I go back to directx8 and check that it has done so.

its crippled my pc!

The newer dx9.0a fixed a bug with Cat3.1 drivers.  Also there is a XP SP1
slowdown bug that microsoft has a beta patch out for, do a search for it.

I gained 6 fps in NR2003 after installing the latest DX9.0a over top of 9.0.

I just downloaded the installer, run it, got a longer download, all seemed
to be ok, but when the installation began, then after some seconds, I get an
"file didn't fit the Microsoft Logo test" (bad translation of the german
error-message). I than tried to d'l the complete 9.0redist (this should be
the new 9.0a too), but when I tried to install it, the same thing happens.

My system:
Athlon XP 2600+
WinXP
