Did you try Generic wheel driver option in GPL to see if it makes any
difference?

I have the same problem with the same wheel here.  Any help would be
appreciated.

I am brand new to racing sims (flight sim nut), but GPL has
hooked me.

I recently bought a TM Nascar Pro setup over the weekend and
jumped into the sim.  After a couple of hours I was actually able
to make it around the track in a Ferrari, hehe.  The engine noise
is spectacular!  Ask my neighbors.  Now I am regularly turning in
blistering 1:26s at Watkins, hehe.

I got a prob though.

The wheel and pedals calibrate silky smooth in Win95 or the TM
program.  But when I go into the GPL calib, it is jumpy as a
crackhead.  Just little jitters, but the driver's hands are kinda
shaking on the wheel, like he has a serious hangover.  I have a
feeling it's affecting the handling, especially on the
straightaways.

I thought maybe it was because of directX6, so I hunted down an
uninstaller on the web and successfully reinstalled Directx5.2.

No go.  Still the same jitters on the wheel.

Does everyone get these little jitters, or is it just me?

My system:

Win95 OSR2
Celeron300a/ABIT BX6 o/c to 375
128 meg PC100 RAM
TB Montego Soundcard/gameport
Big ass WD IDE Hard drive
CL Voodoo2 12 meg
STB V4400 TNT
Now running DirectX5.2

I am running the old TB Montego drivers, because the new ones
have serious probs (memory leaks and bad calibration), but
otherwise all drivers are current.

Any ideas?

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I had tried both "direct" and
"generic" options.  They both show pretty much exactly the same
flutter.

Pretty much the same here, TM Nascar Pro, P2-400 w/ TB Montego and Win 98,
Directx 6.0.  It's a bit jittery.  Not sure it's really affecting the
handling as it seems to stay straight in the straights (as long as I'm
driving the car right <G>), but I'd rather it not twitch like that all the
same.  Tried both Direct Input and Generic settings, and Generic jumps much
worse on calibration so I've stuck with the Direct Input (which should also
be taking advantage of the accelerated gameport).

Works fine in Win 98 calibration, F1RS and in DOS Nascar 2.  Tried the newer
Vortex drivers for the Montego but they really wigged out everything, so
went back to the ones on the CD.

Maybe the original GP drivers were ex-bootleggers too?? <G>.
