I've got an Aptiva too, and the situation you described sounds pretty
much like what I experience. I'm not much on tech issues, but I don't
think there are any good workarounds for this. i do know that ugrading
from 8 to 16 meg allowed me to run in SVGA in "telegame" mode (the only
way to use the modem, ie. race on hawaii.)
If anbody does know of any way around these problems I'd love to hear
it, but I think the reality of the situation is that when you ask the
Mwave to do more then one thing at a time you reduce it's capabilities.
One day soon I'm going to stick a soundblaster in here. I've already got
a dedicated gamecard.
