My suggestions:
1) The engine braking is over exaggerated. During manual
downshifts the engine locks up too easily. Downshifting from 3rd to
second, and from 2nd to first, locks up the engine too easily. I'm
getting better but it just doesn't seem realistic.
2) It's a real pain in the ass to compare player lap times.
F1-2000CS had the entire player lap times for each track, listed in
one page. Comparing lap times was as easy as clicking though the
players. F1-2001 scrolls through each track, two at time. The lap
times are displayed for about one half second, and then moves on to
the next track automatically. If you miss the lap time that you were
looking for you have to wait until it scrolls though all the tracks
again. My friends and me constantly compare lap times when they come
over and race. EA attempted to fix something that wasn't broken and
made it worse in the process.
3) Force feedback please!!
Other than that, I really like the game. It took a while to get the
game running good. It was a pain to get it going but it was worth it.
F1-2001's config file stated that I had 52 Meg of video ram. After
changing the value to 32 Meg, and installing Nvidia 12.90 drivers,
everything seems okay. I'm getting 26-31(fraps) while racing in
suzuka with ten cars using medium to high settings (system specs
below). What kind of FPS are you guys getting? Thanks >> Tony
